Alma d’Arame was co-founded in 2006, in Montemor-o-Novo, by Amândio Anastácio, a man with a passion for puppets and a set designer, and Ildeberto Gama, both with the ambition of creating a unique and relevant project to promote the performing arts and making their mark in Portuguese culture.
In its 12 years of existence, this cultural association has proudly followed an unprecedented path paved by creation, programming and training and has taken root in the community’s culture.
The International Puppets Festival of Montemor-o-Novo, held since 2008, is part of this project and has been gaining popularity not only in Portugal, but its importance has also been growing in the international art of puppetry.
